About the event
Crows in the Meadow has a sound all its own, offering a blend of folk and bluegrass with country harmonies and just a little rock n’ roll to give it some kick.
Steve Knauth started writing songs in 1966 for his first band while in high school in Paris, France. He was the original bass player for the 1970s California cult band Little Roger and the Goosebumps (see their 1975 San Francisco concert on You Tube). More recently, Steve has teamed with Dave and Sherrill on three CDs of original music, playing guitar, bass and harmonica.
Dave Gregoire started playing guitar in 1972 at age 14, went through the “rock ‘n’ roll portal”, and came out the other side as a lover of all forms of acoustic music. He has since moved on to writing songs and, in addition to Crows in the Meadow, Dave enjoys playing guitar and mandolin at solo gigs and collaborating with local musicians.
Sherrill Farkas and her fiddle are well-known in the area, and both can be seen at many a local venue with a variety of musicians. Building on a firm foundation in Irish music, Sherrill has branched out over the years to embrace to variety of musical styles and, with her violin and vocals, she plays a key role in producing the Crows in the Meadow sound.
